Teenager stabs woman to death in Murray, police say

A 34-year-old woman is dead and a 16-year-old is in custody after he allegedly stabbed her to death in a parking lot on Thursday.

The victim, Melissa Wood, was involved in a “confrontation” with the teenager, according to Murray police. She was stabbed outside an apartment complex at 4439 S. Brick Oven Way at about 6 p.m. Thursday.

The 16-year-old was taken into custody and booked into juvenile detention, police said. The investigation into the killing is continuing.
